Weber problems with mixed distances and regional demand

We consider a location problem where the distribution of the existing facilities is described by a probability distribution and the transportation cost is given by a combination of transportation cost in a network and continuous distance. The motivation is that in many cases transportation cost is partly given by the cost of travel in a transportation network whereas the access to the network and the travel from the exit of the network to the new facility is given by a continuous distance.      

Spectroscopy of two coincident charged particles emitted following bound pion absorption in 12C, 59Co and 197Au

Energy spectra and angular distributions of two coincident charged particles emitted following stopped negative pion absorption in ¹²C, ⁵⁹Co and ¹⁹⁷Au were measured. Most of the data can be understood within the framework of a pair absorption model including final-state interactions. Ground-state transitions in the missing mass spectra of ⁴H and ⁴He deduced from the αα and tα spectra of ¹²C, respectively, show that reactions involving a large part of the nucleus also occur.     

Detailed investigation of the β-decay of the 9/2+ ground state of 99Nb to levels in 99Mo

The decay of ⁹⁹Nb to ⁹⁹Mo has been investigated. The use of the ion-guide technique for on-line mass separation and of a Ge-array for γ-ray detection have allowed the observation of decay branchings lower than 10^?3. Mediumspin levels, some already known from reaction studies and new ones at high energy, are populated. The β-feeding patterns of the decays of the 9/2⁺ states in ⁹⁹Nb and in its isotones ⁹⁷Y, and ¹⁰¹Tc are qualitatively reproduced by QRPA calculations.     

P n-values of short-lived Sr,Y, Ba and La precursors

Beta-delayed neutron emission probabilities (P_n) of short-lived Sr, Y, Ba and La precursors were measured. As expected from systematics, but in disagreement with recent data from the SOLIS-group, only small P_n -values were obtained.     

Rapid radio-proteinbinding measurement of urine folates

A method is presented for the determination of urine folates by a commercial radio-proteinbinding assay widely used in clinical diagnostics for assessing plasma folate levels. Good recovery of urine folates over the range of the calibration curve was observed. Because of the speed, sensitivity and precision of this test, urine folate levels can be measured in bioavailability studies or for the assessment of folate status.
